screenshotAfter I posted Limiting the Number of Words in Your Excerpt or Content in WordPress I thought it would be a good idea to actually create a little plugin for those who aren’t actually code hackers.

Guys, how can I get the “Read More” to open the article in a new window? This plugin is working great on the RSS feeds I bring in, I just want them to open in a new window.

    Thanks,
    Chris

Nevermind… I just changed the code in the Plugin’s php file to target=”_blank”. Maybe a good addition to the next plugin, asking the user their preferred TARGET of the readmore link

I have content limited to 30.

I have a post in the loop with only 7 words on content and it’s shows only 6 words on the page.

I also have some longer posts that it seems to limit just fine.

    What gives?

    Hi,
first of all thanks for this plugin. It works great. :) But i have a little “Problem”.
WHen i use the excerpt(’10′) is shows me the first 10 words but it shows me under a “READ MORE” link…
Since my blog is not in englisht i want remove or translate that part… is that possible? How can i handle this problem. It will be very helpfull if u can suggest me something.

    Thanks a lot in advance

Great idea. Because of a design flaw in my theme, a long excerpt messes up the read more link, so limiting it with keep my front page looking uniform.

    Thanks!

    Great plugin,

I’d like to show image within the excerpts and can’t figure out what to change in the code. Any tips? Right now, it’s showing this info instead of the image:

    [caption id="attachment_35" align="alignnone" width="575" caption="A Caption"][/caption]

I am excerpting content not an excerpt. Thanks!
