It has been almost two years since I last updated my Magazine Columns plugin for WordPress, and I guess there were a few outstanding issues that needed to be addressed. I just gave it a once over and tested it in WordPress 3.1.1 and everything seems to now be working the way it should. The updated version can be found on WordPress.org and you can read the original post about the plugin at http://bavotasan.com/downloads/magazine-columns-wordpress-plugin/.

WordPress 3.1.1 Awaiting moderation whether to support?
This Plugin sounds great, I´m gonna use it on my new fitness magazine!
One Question.
I am implementing these columns on a website I’m building. I thank you for your design it seems very useful. I do have one question. Is it possible to have three columns at the top of the page and then go back to one column that speads the width of the three above?
ie:
iii iii iii
iii iii iii
iii iii iii
iiiiiiiiiiiiiii
I’m not sure if this has been already answered. I looked through the other comments on your other post but didn’t see what I was looking for.
Many Thanks.
Great timing for this update. I was looking for a new way of displaying my articles on my site that gives a more familiar feeling similar to a magazine. I found the original plugin but was unsure whether there was any support for it.
It should look great in my magazine premium theme. Thanks for the continuing updates and support you give to us. I’ll give feedback if I find anything that crops up.
I like the Magazine Theme, but what I still miss is some kind of solution to split titles and short previous on the right length, s they hit diurectly the column structure without ugly line breaks.
Any reason why this isn’t working in 3.1.3? Any chance that it might need an update for that?
It works on 3.1.3. Have you followed the instructions?
Thank you for the plugin, it is very useful. But i have one issue about image size. This column plugin always resizes the image to fit the column width, if it’s small it will be streched, if it’s large it will be shrunk.
So how do we keep the original image size/dimension to display as it is? I have chose the “full size” (original) in image option.
Thank you
The smaller image being stretched is a bug but the larger image shrinking down is a must in order to keep the columns working correctly.
I do have one question. Is it possible to have three columns at the top of the page and then go back to one column that speads the width of the three above? I hope you can help me. Thanks for sharing
Yup. Just use the start and stop column tags. Check http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/magazine-columns/faq/
This looks fantastic! I’m going to try it on one of my sites that I think the visitors would really appreciate – it’s a site that has very long articles that could do with a more “magazine” feel to it. I’m sure the columns will help to keep the reader focused on the content for longer. Thanks.
Great article! I’m currently using your theme which is magazine-basic, but archive post page doesn’t work for custom post type. It only works for the default post type. How can I make it work? Thanks!
That is a WordPress issue. There are tons of articles about it:

I’m the webmaster at a law firm and after seeing this, I think we’re going to move the blog over to this theme. It looks sharp and professional and I just think it will work out great.
